What to Share Before Starting a Business Sign Project

You do not need to arrive with every sign detail decided. A few clear pieces of information can make the first conversation more useful. Start with what your business needs to communicate, the place where the sign will be used, and the date you are working toward.

Give the sign a clear job

Think about the first thing someone should understand. A building sign may need to identify the company from outside. A lobby sign can confirm that a visitor has reached the right business. Directional signs help people move toward a destination.

Write down the essential message before adding supporting details. Include the business name, the wording you need to display, and any practical information the sign should communicate. If several signs are involved, describe the job of each one.

Show the space, not just the idea

Photos help explain the setting. Share a wider view of the building, room, or vehicle, along with a closer view of the proposed sign area. Approximate dimensions are a useful starting point for a discussion; the finished project can be reviewed in more detail as planning progresses.

Point out nearby entrances, existing signs, windows, or other features that affect how people approach the space. This gives the conversation more context than a description of the sign alone.

Gather the brand details you already have

Send your current logo, preferred colors, and any approved wording. Existing brand guidelines or photos of signs you want to coordinate with can also be helpful. Let us know which parts are settled and which still need design input.

For a larger collection, consider how the exterior identification, reception sign, and practical information should relate to one another. A shared visual direction can connect different sign types without making every sign identical.

Discuss the schedule and priorities early

Tell us about your target date and the signs you need first. An opening, a move, or a brand update may involve several pieces with different priorities. Share those details so artwork, production, and installation can be discussed as part of the same plan.

If you have a working budget, include it in the conversation. It helps define which options to explore and which parts of the project matter most to your business.
